Problems with my floor pump

My road tires call for 110-120psi, but I physically cannot push the pump handle down anymore to get more than 80 psi into the tires. Why?

What kind of pump do you have? Is it a cheap one? I had the same problems with my pump, it was cheap and it couldnt pump no where near enough air into my tire. Got a new fancier pump with a gauge and it works great. Some pumps can only pump to a lower psi.

Its probably just a cheap pump. I can get up to 120 with my cheap pump, but the dual head valve sometimes leaks, and the gauge isn't that accurate. I wish I just spent the money on a good one...

Your gauge could be wrong too....
