This is taking the thing a bit far isn't it? Yellow Livestrong housewares!
At least part of the proceeds actually go to the Livestrong foundation.

You should realise thar cancer has hit millions. Lance did something clever in combining research and medical care in his charity; from the donor's POV it
offers a connection to caregiving that is notably absent from pure research.
I won't be running off to Target, but I am sure a few people will find meaning in
a yellow coffee cup or tea pot. Yeah, Slvoid, it's creepy, now take the next deductive step.

I don't think it's any creepier than any other fundraising effort.

I never said it was creepy, but I fail to see the relationship between the Livestrong foundation and a serving platter. How the hell did a relationship between Chantal and Livestrong come about?
Then again I did see a pink Dyson vacuum that was in support of breast cancer the other day....
And a pink Roomba as well.
I'm also curious to see how much of the proceeds really go back to the foundation.

That aside, a handlebar teapot mount would have a nice Mad Hatter chic. . . .

These things are for yuppies who'd rather have a yellow tea pot as a conversation piece so they can feel good telling everyone about their half assed attempt at doing something.
Hey, I donate money too but are we so insecure that we need t-shirts, yellow tea pots, and pink vacuums to constantly remind us that we're good people?

Yeah the whole movement where we have to proudly display our generosity is getting on my nerves. From now on, I am just going to start stapling my cancelled checks to my clothes.
And, for good measure, I just ordered a set of these.

Too often in this country we think we can fix things by throwing money at it. Too often, it doesn't happen.

My, are we not the snide bunch on this Saturday. I don't begrudge Lance for keeping his cause visible even though my own, "Help Turtleguy repay $40,000 dollars in graduate school loans which the old guy took out so He could help the world" fund is floundering. Heck, my storage shed is still full of plaster casts of my hand.

And, seniors have to pay more than shelf-price now, because of the new Medicaid (or is it Medicare...I forget which is which) regs. Lovely, this capitalism, isn't it?

People often complain that cancer is not cured yet. What people don't realize is that cancer is not one disease, it is thousands of diseases. A person doesn't get cancer. They get one cancerous cell type which responds to one type of therapy. We may have excellent treatments for one cell type or mechanism, but not for thousands of others. It is like complaining that we haven't cured brain diseases. It is just too broad and simplistic a view. Cancer is just one example.
And if you think drugs cost too much, I encourage you to start your own pharmaceutical company.

- FWIW, i ordered the pouring bowl and covered tea cup w/infuser...
- i ordered these items because:
1) i needed a small 3-cup mixing bowl w/handle and pour lip (perfect for whisking dressings, making salsa and/or scrambled eggs)
2) i have not seen a covered mug w/infuser in any local store
3) the prices weren't bad
4) targét.com packs nicely and ships quickly
5) because of the color
6) because of the charitible contribution
- received the items today
- the mix/pour bowl is very nice, sturdy, freezer/oven/micro safe
- the covered tea cup will also brew rough-ground java w/no problem *and* keep your coffee warm; again a nice product, also safe for micro...
- JMHO, YMMV...
