I was so busy this summer I either missed the news or the Athens, Georgia news just did not reach me... it may have gone un-noticed by many that Fred Birchmore passed away quietly this past April at the age of 100 and as far as I know he continued to be very active right up until he passed away.

The driver of the car had a previous convicted of a DWI within 10 years so he was automatically charged with a felony. I'm not real familiar with that area as it is on the other end of the micro-metropolis that is Binghamton NY but from memory it does seem to have some wide shoulders, but it also is a high speed road (depending on where he was hit, when it gets more commercial the speed limit drops). No news if the cyclists had lights on or reflective gear. I don't know Bradley, but it sure is sad news. Here is one story on the crash: http://www.pressconnects.com/article...arged-with-DWI
