Have you driven a car today.
We are talking automobiles here, not motorcycles, mopeds, or anything else motorized.

Why do you want to know and why does it matter? Just curious.
My answer is yes. I skipped my 45 mile cyclocommute in favor of a car due to snow. I tend to drive once or twice a week. |
Yes. 12 miles.
|
I drove my work truck allllllllll day :)
|
5 miles to work, 3 miles to a job site to drop off a roll of drawings, 90 mile r/t to a meeting, shopping 8 mile sidetrip, 5 miles home.

I cycled to work and back, 1 hour each way. Pouring rain on way in, drizzle on way home.
Im driving my car to the bar to meet with my group ride budds for wednesday night beer nights. |
Unfortunately yes. My wife has gone on school camp with our daughter so I need to drive my son to a friend's house before school and pick him up afterwards.
Thankfully it's only for two days but I really missed my ride to work this morning. I just don't feel as awake and my mind doesn't seem as sharp. I can't wait to get back on my bike. |

Some have made some lifestyle decisions that allow them to be truly (or mostly) car-free, and I truly respect them. Most of the other talk comes from what I call "chameleons". They say whatever they think they need to say to fit in with the crowd they are currently with. I ride when I can. I couldn't today. |
I easily go a month without driving an automobile. Even in winter.

I also drove today due to snow in ice.

I drove a car just 10 minutes ago, of course it was a 55 Chev and I drove it from the prep area to the painbooth. I was hanging out with one of the splatter monkeys (the paint guys) at work on my lunch break and he asked me if I'd help him take a few cars to the paintbooth. Lucky bastard, he got to drive the 32 Ford.
Other than that, I have only driven a car 3 times since March. |

I drove a rented U-Haul truck about 2 months ago (well, closer to three, now), when we moved. Other than that I haven't driven since March.
(Yes, I rode my bike in the cold and snow this morning. Wimps. :p ) |
Not only did I drive, I drove fast. I stomped on a much more fuel effecient honda CRX in a nice little freeway road race! Poor kid didn't stand a chance against a V8.
|
Yeah, I drove today since I needed to haul some computer equipment. Been averaging 1-2 drives a week lately, will probalby go up once the rains start...
|
I get paid a car allowance so I can get to meetings in and out of town, and I don't suspect my employer would appreciate me tripling my meeting travel time for the sake of not burning a gallon of gas. Since I like to see my out-of-town family ocasionally, I'd like to keep the car and the allowance that comes with it. And I confess, I'm a fair-weather rider unless I'm on a tour.
|
Yep I drove my firebird today. :D

Nope, I'm retired and drive only when necessary.

I'm a full-time student (not really working at the moment). I walked to class this morning. like I do everyday. It takes me 15 minutes.
This afternoon I will go on a field trip with a geology class as teaching assistant and I'll ride in the van. I drive my Subaru once a week or so. |
Not today. Working from home. Thank you to whoever invented DSL!
|
I put gas in my car last week. It was the first time this year.
