What do you have for bikes?
What is in your (the reader)'s stable of bikes?
Usually I see dedicated cyclists (or those that have the available cash) having a road bike, a mountain bike, and a beater bike for commuting. A friend of mine has five different mountain bikes (a very lightweight hardtail, a cross-country throughbred, a downhiller, a freeride bike for slamming into/onto things at high speeds, and a beater for general use.)
My collection is growing, just bought a hardtail for commuting, and I may end up with some bikes from family members, including possibly a decent road bike.
What interesting bikes do you have? (Yes, I'm bored on an early Sunday morning, so posting this.)

I'm trying to get my really, really, really, really rusty Schwinn Varsity road worthy, so it could be my grocery/gym/coffee-shop bike.
My only bike that's functional right now is My Schwinn Fastback, which I use for everything (commute, rides, etc).
I'm looking to add another bike to the stable, not sure if I can actually afford one. Probably a single/fixed.

2006 Cannondale R1000 - Good weather trainning, commuting, racing (with different wheelset)
200? Specialized Allez - ex collegiate training/commuting/racing bike. Now a bad weather training, commuting, back up racing bike.
Thats it. I'm entertaining the idea of getting a fixie thought.

My stable is in a constant state of incoming and outgoing (usually more incoming ) Currently I have: 1972 Raleigh Sports 3sp (old commuter), Giant Excursion (European Utility) set up with drop bars for touring, a Redline 9.2.5 for recreational riding, 1968 Raleigh RSW Compact folder (just because), 2 Schwinn single speed coaster brake bikes complete (rescued from the dump) a beat up Mongoose MTB for beating around the property (we have 40 acres), a couple of Motobecanes in pieces and parts, a 'dale M400 frameset w/Suntour. Haven't decided what to do with it yet. And probably 5-6 more cheap no name brand bikes for miscelaneous parts. I am in the market for a lightweight folder. Looking at a Brompton or a Dahon D3.

Currently, I have four bikes only two and a half of which are roadworthy. I still have my old 1989 Schwinn Impact which is still rattling around in my parents' garage. It is a heavy brute that would serve as a decent commuter if I ever got the energy to do something with it. My running around every day machine is my 1997 Mongoose Sycamore ATB which I have fitted with racks, fenders and a set of IRC AdvantagePro street tires. This bike is good for just about everything and has been about the nicest riding bike I have ever owned. My other fully operational bike is my brand new Surly Cross Check which I have had only for a couple of weeks. I use this bike for nearly all my recreational riding which these days is mostly road. I have a set of narrow street tires on it at present and it is not much use as a trail bomber. My Bianchi road bike is most ready to roll but I swiped parts off of it to fit out the Cross Check like the pedals, pump, bottle cages etc.

Never let them sleep in the same room or they'll reproduce. How do you think that hybrid bikes came about? Now we have catagories of bikes that fit nicely between every two adjacent categories of bikes and the number of mongrel genre's just keeps growing.

Sold my old 6-speed Fuji several months ago to a friend, so now all thats left is my quadra colored, Columbus SL '91 Tommasini with Record/Chorus mix. I also commute to work on this bike until I can find a suitable replacement for the Fuji.

At present (I do a lot of rebuilding and reselling) a 1982 Cilo (pronounced See-Low) roadster, rebuilt from a rather sorry abandoned state.
A 1981 Miyata "Pro-Miyata", which required very little restoration, but has way too high a gearset for me. Trying to decide which way to go. (Compact crank? Bigger freewheel which requires a new DR? Dunno yet)
A home-built recumbent, built along the lines of the "No-Weld" recumbent widely advertised on the web. Mine is considerably more refined, weighs in at 38 pounds. Still needs a bit of work on the seat position.
