And yes if I could avoid the trunk style but still have an affordable bag of a size that would fit all of my gear for the day then I would buy it. But at this point there don't seem to be many options other than to pay a small fortune for a bag.
Stopping for gear or to eat lets you smell the roses. Trying to don a jacket or eating (anything but maybe a power bar), while moving is a bit dangerous IMHO. Just not worth the risk with perhaps the exception of being in a race.
Frankly I like to stop every 20 miles or so. It makes the ride a lot more enjoyable. When I ride, I am out to enjoy the day. Way down on the list is how far I went or how fast I did it.

That's why I posted this in General - for normal folks who do day trips on a bicycle, stopping at different places to eat, window shop, visit and just enjoy the day.

Wish I'd seen your review before I got the Brooks Millbrook, chipcom. Oh, no I don't. It would have just been one more decision.
Now, about that blinkie. I had the same problem. Turns out my Planetbike blinkie fit right on the seatstay. I don't know if other brands furnish a small enough clamp, or not.

The Nashbar rack only fits 27.2 mm seatposts. I used one for most of this year and liked it except for the size. I just replaced it with a rear rack and bag, and like having the extra room to carry lunch, a thermos and another layer - the things that wouldn't fit in the Nashbar bags.

The Baggins Banana bag is a little smaller, but it is canvas and it holds more than I need most of the time. Add a Candy Bar bar on the handlebars and you can tote more crap than anyone needs for a day's ride. The Little Joe is probably about the size of the nylon bag in the OP.

I start off with a mostly empty Carradice Nelson. One hour into the ride we stop so that everyone wearing synthetic cool weather gear can strip. If they're prepared they roll up their clothes and bungie cord it somehow to their bikes. If they're not, and they're cute, I volunteer to carry their stuff. Sometimes they get to see the Longflap in action. I do that twice before I suggest they look into buying a bigger bag to hold the stuff they obviously feel they need.

I'm convinced the Smaller-Saddlebag-Is-Better aesthetic is motivated by some sort of inverse penis envy trip -- like, "look, my nutsack is tighter than yours!" Boys will be boys...
The less crap I have to stuff in my jersey pockets, the better I ride & the happier I am. I've seen guys with spare tires folded up in their jersey pockets...ouch! I'll keep food, keys, wallet, maybe glove liners in my pockets. Sometimes the cellphone, though that's only under duress. Everything else goes in the saddlebag.
