Flat battery in my cyclocomputer?

I just recently pulled out our mountain bikes which have been sitting idle for some months.

I have the Cateye Micro Cyclocomputer CC6000 on my bike and there was no display.

Flat battery I assumed after I tried riding to get the display to come on and firstly pressing then holding each button both individually and together. Basically I tried any and every combination I could.

I decided to replace the battery and after doing so I find myself with the same problem!

Does anyone know what I should do to get the Cyclometer to work? (I'm guessing that it should come on automatically when the sensor on the wheel spins fast enough and for a pre-determined period of time)

Let me know what to try or your thoughts - is it stuffed or what???

It would be good if I could get it running again as it's a good unit and I've never had a drama with it untill now.

Regards
Marc

Are you sure you've inserted the battery correctly? It's easy to reverse the polarity by mistake in some electronic gadgets.

If that doesn't work, it's probably died from moisture of some kind.

Did you make sure the contacts were clean in the computer? An eraser usually doies the trick just fine.

And a little bit of rubbing alcohol. If that fails a lot of drinking alcohol and then you won't care that your computer does not work. ;)

I know this is an old thread, but I just had the same problem but fixed it.

I put in a new battery and nothing happened. I held down some buttons, nothing. There is a white "select" button on the back and I held that down while holding down the front Start/Stop button and it came on.

Additionally, a scan of the manual is on the Cateye website: http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=1&gl=us
