I give up - - what is "NOS" in an eBay ad?

I know "NIB" and "BIN," by what does "NOS" mean when you see it in an eBay ad? It's probably as obvious as the others but for some reason I haven't figured it out yet!

New Old Stock

Old parts that have been sitting around doing nothing since they were new.

It means New Old Stock and refers to an item that has sat for years in a shop but has never sold. For example: "Last year I purchased a 1985 Madsion from my Schwinn dealer. It was NOS"

You run across any Western Electric NOS 300B vacuum tubes, let me know.

Lately it seems that if it is bike related it means New Only to Suckers

Since we're at it, what's "NIB" and "BIN"?

mander 02-14-07 05:06 PM

New in box. Bin? Never heard of it.

Buy It Now.

foolish heart 02-14-07 07:13 PM

I can see clearly now. Thanks.

Some folks will try to trick you with NIP (new in package).

kbrown 02-19-07 03:23 PM

Thank you monk for asking that. That's been bugging me since the first time I saw it. I figured out what the N stood, but the O and S I could never get. I've never bought anything off of ebay but I like to look around.
