What to do? What to do?

So I'm almost ready to get back on the bike after breaking my arm last month. I'm hoping the dr. will clear me on Thursday. But I have a problem. Right before the accident, I broke the frame on my old Raleigh that I had rescued from someone's garage. And I really hate commuting on my old mt. bike. But I can't afford a new bike, and craig's list is short on things in my size. So, do I take the chance on what I can afford? A bikesdirect bike. Or do I settle for something far older than my old Supercourse that I might not enjoy as much? And should I go fixed or geared? Too many choices. I think with the nice weather and seeing all the other peole enjoying thier bikes while I'm in my hated car is making me crazy.

Have you tried asking about fixing it in the classic and vintage area? Who knows maybe you can pick up and new frame and just swap everything out.

Mix and match. Cobble together your old mountain bike frame with components from the broken Raleigh to create your own custom commuter.

We're a very helpful lot in C & V. It's possible that a member can point you in the right direction...
