Can you buy a sew-in chamois?

Hey folks,

I'm getting a friend to make me a pair of loose riding shorts. I'm just wondering if it's possible to buy a padded chamois that would be suitable for sewing into the shorts, similar to what's used in 3/4 length 'messenger' style shorts (which is what she's making me).

Any help would be much appreciated, cheers!

You might contact somebody like this:
http://www.louisgarneau.com/usa/ctm_...=C7&section=SB
to see if they will sell you the pad.

I use Andiamo padded briefs under loose (non-biking) shorts, and under unlined tights:

They work fine for me, although I don't typically ride more than about 30 miles at a time. I think they'd be OK for longer rides, but I can't say for sure.

on sat, 3/31, stopped by the Louis Garneau outlet store in Newport, VT
(802.334.5885); they had sew-in pads in a display box right in front of
their cash register. $2 each or 3 for $5.
