Saddle Question
 

Hi dear fellow cyclists :love:
I'm new to the cycling world,
I bought a Kona Jake(cyclocross) bike after having a Giant Cypress(hybrid/comfort) bike for a few months(I wanted something to go offroad but faster)
The Kona Jake runs a lot faster! and I love it! the only thing that I don't like is the skinny saddle, even with my cycling shorts my butt gets really sore after my 50 mile rides (my butt never got sore while riding my Giant Cypress, but my back did get sore due to the upright position, now my back doesn't hurt, but my butt does).
My questions are,
what are the advantages of having a skinny saddle over a saddle like the one that comes with the Giant Cypress bike?
If my butt likes the Giant Cypress saddle can I just change it to the other bike? or are the saddles related to the type of bike?

Keep using the skinny saddle. Your butt will get broken in soon and you won't feel any soreness.

if the wider saddle doesn't cause circulation or nerve problems, try it. i'm a clyde, wider saddles cause those problems for my fat arse. especially when i'm sitting upright.

i believe serfas has some sort of "test" or "return" program. at least they used to. that might be an affordable way to go.
