I have a hard time choosing between those two bikes... I saw them both and like them both. The only problem is that no store near my house have the two brands (Trek and Cannondale), so no vendor can compare those two bikes for me. The 4 places I did ( two with the Trek, and two others with the cannondale) are trying to sell me what they have in store. Since I like both of them and they are in the same price range I would like to know what are the differences, the + and the - for each bike if possilbe. I'm waiting for anwers before I choose and buy one on them so please help me

Little Darwin

There will be some that will elevate or bash specific components, and the components they share show that they are generally similar quality bikes. However, since you like both, in my opinion it really comes down to:

1) Which one do you like better?

2) Which shop do you like most?

3) What color do you like most?

It seems to be the common view that among the various lines, bikes of similar price are of similar value, they may just make different compromises... and which of those compromises is best, is personal taste.

If you like them both, and they both fit, then it's simple. Which one is cheaper, and/or which one has a color you like better?

All the rest is irrelevent if you like them both. Components are similar.

AlmostTrick

Something you may not have considered is how much you would or would not prefer the triple chainrings over the double. I find my 42t middle ring keeps me happy for all but a few of the largest hills on my rides. If I had a 36-50 double it seems like I would be shifting between them all the time.

I asked the guy at the Trek store what was the difference between the 2X9 speed trek 7.6fx and the 3X9 or 10 speed that all other bikes i was watching had. He told me nothing you will enough choice on the trek and you would never use them anyway.

I also heard thaVbrake were better than the brakes that are on the cannondale that are more like a road bike. Is that true? Because I ahte the look of the Vbrake, they are so big. The canondale is also lighter but does this emans that he is as tough as the trek??

The guy that sell canondale also told me that shimano rims were better then the one that the trek got!
