stupid bikes falling apart again!!!
So today Im riding and halfway threw my ride I notice the rear wheel is very wobilly(or how ever you spell it), so when I get home I took the wheel out to find its way out of alignment and that one of the spokes is broken!!!!! I didn't hit any pot holes, or bump it real hard!!!! So what gives? Both front/rear wheels got a wheel alignment a month ago, befor that it was last october. Its a Speicalized hardrock FS, no suspension, on 1.5 wide tires------ maybe the skiny tire might have something to do with it, but all my riding is on paved roads!!.......also the bike is 5 years old, and must have thousands of miles on it.

If it's got five years and thousands of miles on the original spokes, you got your money's worth Have it rebuilt with new DT or Wheelsmith spokes, and perhaps a new rim depending on the advice of your wheelbuilder. The DT and Wheelsmith spokes have a much longer fatigue life than no-name original-equipment spokes.

maybe riding with skinny tires you upped the pressure, which helped the rim to flex more, allowing the spokes to work themselves loose.
