I have a friend who can top that-

One time, he found a futon frame, and he had his bike and really wanted the frame, so we used bungee cords to strap the futon frame to his back, and he rode like 20 miles all the way home in traffic.

That was messed up.

Hmmm... can that be powered by a dynamo-hub? That may solve my problem of trying to bring home ice cream, eggs, milk and halibut on my bike from the grocery store 3 miles away. Oh... did I mention that it's been hitting close to 90 here this week?

Nice!
Great man, great idea, hope he achives the goal - raising money for the kids, and not getting attention to himself.

I have some furniture on the other side of the country, maybe there could be a groupp of people like that that would carry it to California??
