up-loading pictures...

The limit size is 100kb, so why do I see some user pictures much bigger. I got a new digital camera 6mp fuji f31fd and I would like to up load the best images I can to this site.

Even though the pictures are physically larger, 600 x 800 for instance, their file sizes are under 100kb.
I shoot my pictures at 1Mb but reduce the image size to 600 x 800 for posting here.
