"Reckless" City Ordered to Pay Cyclist $844,450

An Ontario Superior Court Justice has ordered the city of Windsor, Ontario to pay a cyclist $844,450 for injuries he sustained when thrown from his bicycle.

Perhaps this city will finally spend the money to repair their deplorable roads and maybe even keep bike facilities clear of ice and snow in winter.

Now, wouldn't that be nice?...

Or perhaps they'll just post signs everywhere like "Cycling prohibited" or "Cyclists use the roadway at your own risk" *sigh*

Or enact anti-cyclist laws with big fines for not ringing a bell at every intersection, so they can recoup the cash lost.

This kind of reminds me of those rumble strips that Cleveland likes to put towards the bottom of hills. Yes, I'm doing the speed limit (25), but how are the strips helping save lives when myself and countless others are nearly thrown from their bikes? Signs must always be put in place when there is a dangerous obstacle on the road...
