I read the article real quick, it's cool. I just left a post at the Clydes forum, some dudes be-crying the virtues of 300 pounders on 23mm tires, kinda funny, I had to get out o' there then I happened upon this post. I'll read it , the other also a bit more.

children without helmets will be stupid as soon as they crash and hurt their heads.

I've been reading references here to studies that say helmets may not help much. Then I watched this, and I noted that many or most of these unfortunates hit their heads hard. I'm wearing my helmet on every ride now, again.

Great stuff, I know I have a helmet out in the garage somewhere, maybe I should go find it.

Wow. I'm glad camcorders were less common when I started riding. I had a nice new cyclometer. I turned left from a stop, moving from one very quiet street to another. I was rather intently trying to find the current speed function. I found it a moment later than I should have. I remember seeing the event like this:
7.4mph
Hood of parked truck.
Sky.
Feet.
Fender of parked truck.
Sky.
Pavement.
Right front tire of parked truck.
Sky.

Yeah. Humble pie?

Yeah cause we all know as soon as you slap on a helmet you instantly become pro cyclist, urban warrior.

ig·no·rant (ĭg'nər-ənt)
adj.

1. Lacking education or knowledge.
2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3. Unaware or uninformed.

[Middle English ignoraunt, from Old French ignorant, from Latin ignōrāns, ignōrant-, present participle of ignōrāre, to be ignorant, not to know; see gnō- in Indo-European roots.]

Children are ignorant by birth until they aquire knowledge.
All adults who put a child on a bike to learn to ride without a helmet are stupid.
