Spin composite wheels look kool painted! :D
I can post some pics next week when I'm back in town. Otherwise, I just paint rims the same way I paint fenders. Make fixture, blast or hand sand, primer, color(s), clear. Relace, ride, ENJOY! Check the "sticky" in C&V "Framepainters". Or search the Forums for "painting". If that doesn't help, PM with any questions. |
You could pick up a nice set of wheels, rims, tires, and tubes, for around 100 or less. Search eBay for vuelta...
http://www.bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BK...nd%20Wheelsets like the coolest looking rim, balanced, strong, and it's just cool. As far as painting, I'd powder coat. Painted rim look does not catch your eye, and it's easy to scratch or strip with your brakes. |
They're hard to find but Weinmann makes a Deep V knockoff that's supposeably lighter that comes in silver, white, black, red, and blue that sells for about half the price.

thanks guys!

NEVER USE BRAKES WITH POWDERCOAT. (you'll waste a hundred bucks, I've seen it)
