Non-clipless no-cleat shoes

I've recently noted that riding in my vans slip-ons sucks, and that my OLD Adidas Night Joggers are about to throw in the towel (and smell like ass too). I don't want to get cleats because that entails carrying another set of shoes with me if I want to walk around and stuff.

Anyone have a favorite shoe for riding with toeclips? I'd get another set of Adidas but they're the Ltd. Ed. ones that are expensive and pink.

I'm looking for something neat looking and not too expensive with a simple or retro design.

You can get recessed cleat shoes and pedals, a.k.a you can walk in them. But if you're hell bent on not doing clipless then thread continues.

Thread continues, etc. I don't much like the real stiff sole either.

Depending upon your foot size, you can get really good prices as Nashbar ($9.95/pair but very limited selection) or Blue Sky Cycling ($29.95/pair) on 661 Dually BMX/Freeride shoes which are the ones I use.

Try some indoor soccer shoes, I have some Nike Tiempos(I think) and they fit clips well.

I don't really like those 661's, I'm looking for more of a running shoe look, so far I've found these: http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...20Road%20Shoes

Those are clipless. Try going to a shoe store. Bring your Night Joggers and see what is similar.

They are but the clip is recessed and they come with covers, it also says the sole is flexible enough to walk on.

The Carnac Carlit. Hands down the best clip and strap shoe ever. They are very hard to find as Carnac only did a limited run, but a few are still on shelves. It's an old school bicycle shoe, they all used to look like these. It has a felt lining and a hard groved sole that catches the edges of your pedals.
I had a pair in the early 80's and when Carnac did the run last year bought another pair.
