Waxing my legs took 3 hours!

I kinda had the feeling that I was going to start shaving my legs this year. I have the Ride Across Indiana coming up and I have been logging lots of extra miles in preparation. One of the first searches I did after registering here was on leg shaving. After reading lots of posts, I decided that my best course of action would be to wax first, then maintain the rest of the summer with a razor.

I had no idea it was so involved. I donít know if it was because I had never done it before or what, but it took me over THREE HOURS. What a pain in the butt. Literally. My butt is sorer now from sitting on the commode lid than after a century. For those of you considering waxing, BE PREPARED!

Why didn't you use Nair or something like that?

I wanted something that would last longer. Nair as I understand it only dissolves the hair at the surface. I shouldnít have to shave for some time this way.

Seems to be about the same time to me. In three hours you could have shaved your entire body and someone else. I can't handle that much pain, I'll stick with Nair and a Razor.

But you will have the smooth legs of a Greek God.

Make sure you exfoliate every time you shower (loufa...etc) With course hair there is a real possibility of getting in-grown hair.

you're one crazy dude, I heard 3 hours of waxing was a "persuasion technique" used by the CIA on al-Quedia informants

I'll stick to Nair to start off the season, and Mach 3 razors to keep it smooth.

You masochist!

I could NEVER do the waxing thing- I'd rather shave every day for the rest of my life than do one waxing session...

Now you know what women go through, dude!

The secret to waxing, of course, is buffing. Many use one of those power buffers with the pad that spins. Gets a nice luster on those legs.

I just can't shave or wax. With my last case of road rash, I don't remember thinking, "wish I didn't have hair." I'm not critical of those who do it. I just don't think it's for me...and I have no desire to try. Thankfully haven't had many road rashes!

I wax my legs too. I find it alot easier than having to frequently shave, results are much smoother too. I agree though, it takes a hell of a long time. Messy too. However, I hear that the more you wax, the hair grows thinner and thinner until it almost stops growing altogether.

I am thinking of using gaffer (or the fabric duct) tape to do the job. It's stuff with really strong adhesive. Put it on, rip it off. No hot wax to deal with, and one piece will do two passes...

I am more than half joking. I used Leukoplast adhesive first aid tape for strapping a knee a couple of years ago. When I ripped the tape off, the skin was silky smooth. Loved it.

That might not leave you much skin.

Itís kinda funny, my daughter and I now engage in ďgirlĒ talk. Last night she was explaining why itís important to exfoliate.

That which does not kill us makes us strong. Or at least smooth.
