Newbie braze on question

I recently got a bike with an aluminum frame and threaded braze ons (I think that is what they are called) for attaching bottles and racks. My question is do you just use the supplied screws as is or are you supposed to use additional parts like rubber washers to enhance the watertightness of the seal (I assume using the braze ons allows water in the frame) or reduce metal to metal contact so that the potential for scratching is reduced? Apologies if this is a lame question but I tried searching for "braze" and "washer" and did not find what I was looking for. Any advice would be appreciated.

The rubber washers don't sound like a bad idea at all, but I've never used them. Nor have I seen anyone use them.

This is one case where going bareback is probably OK.

Plenty of good grease should make a seal and keep the water out.

Try this:

How well does grease usually resist getting washed away by rain?
