You might even be adding time to your family, by preserving your health through regular exercise.

Took a while to read right though this tread...
Made me think I must be lucky..
My good lady said "Best think you ever took up was bikeing"
"You've never looked better"
"You sure you did enough miles this week?"
I do about 6000 a year and realy it dosen't take up that much time.
But then again I'm interested in anything she dose as she is in what I do

Well everything has worked out just great. My wifes addiction to work earned her more money so I get to stay home now. 200 miles a week is laughably easy now. I also clean, cook, do the laundry, run the kids all over God's creation and help them get their homework done. Heck, I'm flying airplanes now too.

I knew there was a reason I'm still single. Nobody to complain about my interests.

Thataway skinny. When my wife complained I was riding too much and not helping enough, I began to make a list of what she did. I gradually grabbed those chores (shopping, cleaning, laundry, grilling--not cooking--grilling cause there are a lot less dishes that way, etc.). Made things easier. Now she accuses me of doing so much just so I can ride.

Should this be the natural order of things?

If you are good at "working stuff out", sit down and work out a schedule that incorporates time for cycling so that you will both have an idea of what is going on when.

Post of the day.

A lot of people (both male and female) try to idealise relationships, somehow assuming that "just being with someone" or "just having kids" is going to automatically solve all of their problems and make their life better, it isn't necessarily so.
