Ah, Stevens. I stumbled upon those in my LBS in Holland a couple of months ago. If I didn't already have my Sirrus I would have sprung for a Strada right there.

SSUPER SEXAAY. I drool, I drool.

Excellent!

Can you help me with this then? What's the diff between these two? I just don't know the parts well enough...

Nice bikes! Looks like Canada is the only place that has them in North America

Strange huh?

I don't know if this is true or not but by population there seems to be more bike companies in Canada, and just a greater general interest as well.

Are we _really_ that different with regard to bike from you guys? I mean we get Fox too...

I'm confused. Your link only has one bike, the Strada. And your first post listed the X6 Gents.

To me, there is not much point doing a component comparison between those two, as there is a fundamental difference in the fork.

First decide whether you want suspension fork or not (Personally I am anti-fork unless it's really for off-road riding).

Damn I'm jealous.

One bike is a little more road (Tiagra components, rigid fork). The other is a little more mountain (Deore components, suspension fork). They both have v-brakes, straight handlebars, and 700 wheels. Pick your poison.

Sorry the comparison functionality mustn't be keeping both bikes in the url.

The comparison I was trying to make was between the X6 _Lite_ (rigid fork) and the Strada 600 (ridgid fork). Specifically, where is the $100 Euro diff coming from?

The X6 Lite frame seems beefier, and appears (eyeballing) to have a slightly more relaxed geometry.

The obvious thing there would seem to be road frame versus mountain bike frame. The X6 has a small chain guard too, which is nice. They both have aluminum forks, which I'm not so sure about. Aren't aluminum forks poor for buzz? There blades though so does that help?

Anyways, they are about $1000 CDN at the LBS each. Are these bikes competitive for that price?

One more thing. How do the Stevens compare to this Opus?

https://www.opusbike.com/site.htm

You'll have to go looking for the Capriccio, under urban perfomance. The site is in flash so no direct link. Sorry.

Opus? Never heard of them. The site's really sexy, but the bikes' paint jobs don't do it for me. I must admit though, it's nice to see a sensible categorization I can understand: "urban comfort vs. urban performance"

There does not appear to be much difference in the frames, mostly the componentry and setup.

M_S summed it up succinctly. Go with that.

Decide whether you want suspension fork or not. I say that if you are riding on roads it is just not necessary.

Don't worry about the meagre 100 Eur difference in price. What's most important is the fork difference - just decide what you want/need, then go for it.

Maybe do a quick search for similar threads (there are always a few recurring about the whole fork thing).

good luck and enjoy!
