Nude cycling - any experience/problems?

Thinking of taking my mountain bike to Cherokee Lodge in TN soon. Lots of nice dirt roads to tool around on. Normally at such places I wear a hat and sandals. I'd go with hard shoes for loafing along dirt roads with no traffic, but was wondering about the no shorts on a saddle thing. Anyone try this? I can't really give a quick whirl along the street without shorts!

I am assuming (and hoping) this is a nudist camp that you are referring to. I would say get an extra wide and soft saddle. If you think your boys get bounced around now wait until there is nothing between them and the saddle.

Ask these folks at worldnakedbikeride.org. They seem to be into it.

Carefull drafting that cute babe because you'll spoil your aerodynamics.

For nude riding you'll need a cloth or sheepskin cover
over the seat if ya don't want to loose some hide when
you ride!!!

tt1106 07-13-07 12:39 PM

I never ride nude, mostly because I don't have a chainguard, and well, bad things would happen.

DataJunkie 07-13-07 12:48 PM

Your poor toes. ;)

SCOOTTER 07-13-07 12:57 PM

Don't let your dingle dangle dangle in the dirt.

Pista Largo 07-13-07 01:05 PM

I'd recommend chamois butt'r and a nice brooks saddle.

C Law 07-13-07 01:06 PM

Don't use a white seat, no mater how well you thought you cleaned up

oh, and don't ride to to local playground and stare at the kids.

edp773 07-13-07 02:22 PM

Saddle in hot sun = ouch!!

CastIron 07-13-07 02:29 PM

Don't fry bacon naked either.

I'd attach one of those el-cheapo saddles that come stock since they're usually softer and some rubber platform pedals.

Don't cook anything that's fairly greasy naked, don't recommend it at all. At least an apron.

adamfresno 07-14-07 06:35 PM

Why......

Tom Stormcrowe 07-14-07 06:36 PM

Sorry, I need a chamois!

What abunch of sorry ass responses from people that don't know nudism from second base. The puritan stricture against nudity in American culture is just downright sick. There is nothing to be ashamed of with regard to the human body. Many European cultures celebrate nudity during the warmer months.

DataJunkie 07-14-07 09:21 PM

Nudism = the desexualization of nudity. Duh....

Just had to read it again. Must be my dislexia. Makes perfect sense.

DataJunkie 07-15-07 07:57 AM

Nah. It is my lovely ability to type. :p

It would probably have made more sense to say something like this:
"separate nudity from sex'

Little hypersensitive there? I thought there were some pretty good suggestions there. Some tongue-in-cheek, but good nonetheless.

And other than the one eewww reply - which may have been directed at any of the previous posts - none that indicated any puritanical response to nudity.
