Abdominal pain while riding
Lately, I have noticed a feeling of strong stomach pains while cycling. This happens about 50% of the time; it really kills my speed, and sucks all the enjoyment out of riding.
Has anyone else had a problem like this? What was the cause? Edit: I'm not 100% sure if this is in the right place; I thought about throwing it in Training/Nutrition, but I wasn't exactly sure. I also expect no real medical advice. I'm just wanting to know about others experiences 'n' all. |
Could it be your appendix? Try these two things.
First jump up and down a couple of times and see if you hurt. Second, drink a spoonful of vinigar, this will really upset a bad appendix. If while doing either of the above you double over get thee to a DR. NOW. Anything else, I'll let others chime in. Hope you are feeing better. Steven |

Steven I was not having much (none, actually) pain right now; I tried jumping up and down anyway though. It didn't get any worse, so hopefully it isn't appendix-related. A few years ago, a friend of mine was about 17 when his appendix ruptured; he was in the hospital for weeks and his description of it made me a wary about appendix problems like that. |
One possible scenario is that your back muscles are pulling on your abdominal muscles. Try resting then strengthening the stomach muscles to coincide with the strength of your back muscles.
As always, have you seen a Doctor yet for this problem? |
If my back is out of whack then I sometimes get abdominal pain - try a trip to the chiropractor/osteopath maybe?

What is the location of the pain? Hi, low. Left, right middle.

I haven't seen a doctor yet, but I will make an appointment this week. I have scoliosis; I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it? |
