High, upright handlebars - where can I get them?

Does anyone know where I can find high upright handlebars? My wife and I want them so that she can sit completely upright while on the back of the tandem. Our friends (and fellow list-members) Pel have them, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Any ideas, preferably websites?

She might not want them as much as she thinks after she tries them, but check a kid-oriented bike shop, somebody that sells BMXs, or look around for a low-rider place (low rider bikes are big here and we have a couple of shops). Any bike dealer probably can order them for you from someplace like QBP, or you might find an bike you can cannibalize at a thrift shop. I've scored some really good deals at the Salvation Army.
When she tilts up and back, you may have to adjust the tilt of the saddle or even buy a new one. That changes the weight distribution on the bike, puts more weight on her butt and can be uncomfortable.

Thats no problem, we've got Brooks saddles designed for the posture. Good idea, I'll hit the flea market too.

OK... So, I think I know what you may need. Look for shops specializing in muscle bikes or choppers or lowriders... I have seen some online and the bars can be had pretty affordably too.

Here's one place I found when I was looking for something more specific. I haven't purchased from them, so I can not personally validate their products. But it does show that there is a variety available.

Google searches for some combination of "bicycle handlebar stingray lowrider chopper schwinn" etc will probably get you some other interesting sites.

Googling "ape hangers" and "bicycle" pulled up http://www.megalowrider.com/Item/H2880.htm and others.
