I'm pretty new to this stuff, and was going to sign up for a race. I saw in the info. that the race that it was "SAG'ed." What does that mean?

I am new as well. But I understand it to mean that the people running the race will be following the racers along to supply things/help when you need them.

Is this a RACE or a RIDE? Generally, rides are "sagged," but races simply have a broom wagon to pick up those who drop out or who are dropped. Additionally, a race is a whole different animal, unless you're one of those who are intent upon RACING a RIDE.

And if you race a ride- You will have a long wait for the sag wagon.

It's in Clinton, SC. "The Flight of the Dove" they call it, got a metric century, 30 miles, and an 8 mile leisure ride. It's a benefit for hospice there.

Huh. I thought SAG meant 'Stop And Go', like the truck would stop, pick you up, and you would go. Duh. But yeah, on organized bike rides, they are kind of nice to have, especially if you don't know how to fix a flat. I got a flat and had to ride in the SAG once - now, I always have a spare tube.
I ride a couple of charity bike rides/tours a year; it is just bike nerd fun, like a TrekCon for SciFi nerds (which I am also).
