Fair price for this OCR3? What questions to ask?
I want to buy my first road bike and this used one looks promising. Is this a fair price, and what questions should I ask the seller? So far I just asked frame size, he said 'medium', and according to Giant's chart, that should fit me. (I will test ride it.)
"giant ocr3 road bike - $450
2005/2006 giant ocr3 road bike originaly cost $579.99 .Since purchased only ridden 250 miles and now riding style has changed .I upgraded alot of items on this bike carbon fiber seat post ,race lite tires ,computer, under seat bag,2- water bottle holders ,blue gel handle bar tape, toe straps ,gel seat pad ,upgraded stem ,it is a beautifully maintained 24 speed .Colors are mostly black with a little blue and silver .No dings or scratches .Total invested $900.00 asking 450.00 o.b.o. Recently tuned up ."
Thanks, and I hope this is the right area to post this.

Not a bad price, but for your consideration...
I think the $300+ worth of extras the seller quotes sounds pretty inflated... Water bottle cages, $10 each, computer $30, seat bag, $20, bar tape, $20 the rest of it of questionable value... owner had the upgrade bug... replacing items that the bike already had to save a few grams or whatever. This leaves about $200 for a seat post, seat pad, toe straps and tires...
Also, new bikes drop in value quickly just like cars. If you bought the bike new at the shop you would probably get free service for a year...
However, if the upgrades are worth something to you, then the cost isn't bad.
However, I think the LBS in my town sold OCR3's at close-out last year for $450, brand new...
