Cannondale Synapse

Hello Everyone,

I am considering purchasing a Cannondale Synapse Carbon1 road bike, and am curious whether anyone on this forum has any experience and/or advise in regards to this particular bike. I have recently taken up long-distance cycling again after many years, and have tried this bike out a few times. I seems to be amazingly responsive and relatively comfortable at the same time. I'm hoping someone can help me out with some advice and any experience they may have had with this machine. Thanks so much to all ....!!

I've been riding a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 for a little over a year now, and I'm happy as the proverbial pig in poo. My initial concern when I first bought the bike (that it wasn't quite as responsive for quick left/right transitions as a more "twitchy" race-oriented geometry might be) has proven to be a non-issue; I've just never encountered a real world situation where I had to force the bike to do a quick side-to-side evasive action and it couldn't keep up. The only other negative I can find is that when I'm really mashing the heck out of a (too-)big gear uphill, there's some frame flex @ the bottom bracket that causes the FD to rub. But every other <$5000 bike I've ridden does this too.

Other than that, the Synapse rides like a dream. Or, more to the point, it rides like a hovercraft: floating on a cushion of air, able to accelerate seemingly instantaneously & effortlessly, goes fast, feels comfortable, won't kill your children... I like it.

I believe you know enough about the bike already. Now, go ride.
