I haven't seen bars turned upside down like that in ages...

Why can't I edit the title of this thread or delete it? The title should have read 'bangers. As in headbangers.

There are a few bikes in Denver like that. Looks goofy as all heck but whatever. It's their bike.... straight out of the 70s.

I saw one on the way home today. It was some homeless looking guy in a trucker hat on an old Peugeot. I'm sure he had no idea he was riding a classic. If it was a bigger frame, I would have offered him some cash for it. And spun the bars back around, naturally.

Fixed. We get flipped bars from time to time. Cheaper than a riser bar.

They're called bumbars. And don't chuckle just yet! I've seen a cyclist with full lycra kit riding them like that.

This is standard stuff around here; I call 'em "redneck rockets". Usually ratty old 10-speeds, you get the impression that the only reason the dude is riding the bike is because he lost his licence.

Yep. We call em DUIcycles around here. Thank heavens they're mostly old Sears bikes and whatnot here though, I would cry if I saw an old higher end Raleigh or Peugeot torn up like that.

You can fit a case of beer in between and the bars holds it like a cradle.

I'm tempted to do that to my bike:

That would kick ass on those long slow rides.
