Seat posts for Brooks double rail saddle

    Hi,

I bought a used Brooks b72 double rail saddle that only accepts a 7/8 inch/22.2 mm seat post and the seat post tube on my frame is for 30mm seat posts. Is there any way that i can make this work without having to hire a machinist to make a custom shim or seatpost to fit? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

    thanks,

    billy

If you get a 30 mm seat post with a built in clamp you can attach a double rail seat using a "seat sandwich".

It appears to be a plate that fits between the rails and between the upper and lower parts of the integrated clamp on newer seat posts. It comes with a longer bolt. Don't know if they have a version for two-bolt clamps.

Or you could try to buy a straight pipe seat post that has the usual narrow 7/8" section at the top and the rest is 30mm, but I couldn't find one in a series of searches.

Beeezer seat sandwich, SR Laprade post and B18 saddle. The seat sandwich will only work with a singlr-bolt post. It works very well, but it's expensive.
