    Carrying a cable lock

This maybe a "duh" question, but I need some ideas on how to carry a cable lock on my bike. The mounting bracket for my Kryptonite cablelock has baffled my mind as to how to mount it and still be able ride.

The answer to this is most likely very simple, however, I will be eternally grateful for any ideas.

Depending on how tightly it is wound, you could wrap it around the seatpost.

I just put mine in my trunk bag along with my U-lock if I'm going somewhere I need to lock up.

Thanks! They all are good ideas. I think I'll just experiment with different places until I find one that works.

Like I said, it was definitely a "duh" question. It makes me wonder why they took the time to "engineer" that mounting bracket in the first place. I thought maybe I was having a senior moment not understanding what to do.

I coil it up tightly, then attach it behind the saddle. One velcro strap holds it to the seat rails, one holds it snug around the seatpost. Of course if you carry a seat bag that wouldn't work.
