How do you clean grease off clothing (jersies, gloves)?

Hi,

I had a road mishap today (long story) and have grease all over my gloves, jersey, bike and skin. The last two are easy to clean off but how do I get stuff off my jersey and gloves? I am most worried about the jersey because it's that thin athletic material so I can't rub too vigorously (fearing it'll tear) and it's expensive so I don't want to ruin it. Any help would be appreciated.

This may not be the answer you want to hear, but that's why bike shorts are usually black.

Pretreating the jersy in Dawn dishwashing liquid may help. It's a pretty good grease cutter.

This has worked for me in the past.

It probably won't come out completely. Sorry. Wear it as a badge of honor.

Thanks for the tips, fellas. I know about the black shorts theory. I am not concerned about the grease on my shorts, but I got it all over my new jersey and that's not cool. It's red, unfortunately. I'll check out the Goop tomorrow, when I go pickup a new tire.
