Checking at K-Mart, Wal-Mart or Sears all what I can see are Huffys, Mongoose or Schwinns, all owned by Pacific. Is that the only company making mass market bikes?
I'm not going to buy one of those bikes, I'm just curious.

What makes you think Huffy is owned by Pacific?

The bikes themselves are not bad for inexspensive bikes, the problem is that they are usually set up shoddy bordering on dangerous by guys that often don't really know what they are doing.
If you want to get one stay away from the full suspension models, they cost more, weigh more, and the suspension is just awful.

And they only come in one size. A bike that doesn't fit won't get ridden, and that's no bargain no matter how cheap it is.
