My issue: I am a multi-mode commuter.

I change into my cycling shorts at last break before I go home, and wear them under my slacks for the last two hours at work.

I carpool to the park-n-ride, where I discretely slip off my slacks and my bike shorts are already in place. I'm ready to bicycle the final leg of my commute home.

Under this law, I may be in for a fine, depending on how surly the LEO is at the time.

It bans showing underwear, but what about bike shorts? Swim suits? Slip off your sweats and expose your running shorts? Yeah, try and enforce this one.

So, y'all in Georgia, be careful!

Shouldn't be hard to enforce at all. It's easy to pick out those that dress for shock value, or in this case "stupid" value.

While I share in most of normal society's disdain for morons who wear their oversized pants without a belt (thus showing their underwear, and is usually accompanied by having to walk whilst using one's hand to keep the pants up) in order to emulate the clownish hip-hip thug culture icons...or I should say ex-cons (they take belts away when you're in jail so the inmates don't hang themselves or produce a weapon from said belt...and we all know that jail is COOL!) I still say the government is overstepping its bounds here.

Anyone that dresses like that is an ignorant moron — and he’s advertising that fact...and he has every right to do so. After all...dressing up like a moron is a form of free speech, and plus, I love the stories of all these wannabes running from the cops and tripping over their own pants.

Seriously, even if that law passes, I think it will be used on a case by case basis. For example having a bikini showing under your shorts at the pool or beach would probably be ok, but having the same bikini with pants pulled down at the mall may be seen as offensive. The key difference would be if the person intended for the underwear to show and the location of the event.

Though, I do think such a law is a bit extreme with the exception of it covering such dress at public schools.

One of the stupidest laws I've ever heard of. If they ban showing of underwear, then they can't stop there -- they have to ban the wearing of swimsuits without a cover over them. After all, swimsuits are just as revealing. Hell, why don't we just install the Taliban, and have them create a dress code for all of us?

This is for real too: On May 1, 1982 the city of Kennesaw, Georgia {aka Gun Town, USA} passed an ordinance [Sec 34-1a] requiring every head of household to maintain a firearm together with ammunition.

Baggy pants , American style is totally laughable. I hate telling one how one must dress; but , it will make America look better to the world. No where else do I see the ultra baggy thing.
As to cycling shorts. As long as cycling shorts are considered appropriate clothing while on the bike, how can this be a problem . Now should Georgia ban cycling shorts, I'd have to move to another state. Just use a belt to keep the pants over the bike shorts while in pants . In that case is not bike shorts, sort of like underwear?
