Heck NO! Some drivers honk at me while I'm out on the road. I'm doing 8 up a hill and they're doing 40-50. I know they mean well in a motivational type of way, but it scares the HECK out of me! Why would I ask for more? Some drive by and yell, "yeah!". That's ok and not as loud as the honk!

Maybe if they had a jersey that said, Yell 'YEEEEEAh if you [heart] cyclists!

I wouldn't but I do think that's a pretty good idea... I'm sure some people would wear it, although it could get distracting! When I see things that ask me to "Honk if" I usually do it regardless of what it is lol. I like an excuse to honk my horn! Love driving past Vern Fonk insurance!

I read all the complaints about the rednecks in the SUV's and pickups, etc. So it seems to me that the ideal shirt would be one that said "Saving gas for YOU!" Maybe if these guys started realizing that the more people ride bicycles, the less their gas is going to cost, they might be all for the idea of everyone else riding bikes.

From a Google search:

Honk if you're stupid
Honk if you're a moron
Honk if you hate SUVs
Honk if you like liberals
Honk if you're polluting the planet

That is the very last thing that's going to be going through their mind when all they can think about is "gay *** on a bike blocking traffic slowing me down".

Well, that's the last thing they're going to be thinking of...so that's why to wear it on a shirt!

Maybe a NASCAR shirt is the way to go (or Smith & Wesson!).

The point is not to get people who support cyclists to honk at you. It's to imply that the people who honk at you (because they dislike cyclists) really DO like cyclists--turn that disapproval into approval (even if it's not genuine).

I really like the idea of honk if you (heart) Smith & Wesson… Because even the most dim witted, redneck, liberal, Conservative, or raging cager among us understands, to a certain point, the idea of peace through superior fire power, or mutually assured destruction…

The NASCAR thing wouldn’t work for me… I hate NASCAR. I would want to wear a Honk if you (heart) Formula 1, and that would only serve to further enrage most of the NASCAR loving types out there.

I have an idea for a shirt though… how about Honk if you (heart) Karate… It may make some of the raging cagers at least think for a moment about messing with you…

Best way to get respect, swap your courier bag for a rifle bag.
At the very least it would make them stop and think, cops may not appreciate it though.

Actually, here in Ohio, anytime one vehicle, including bicycles, passes another vehicle, the passing vehicle is required to honk their horn. Of course, this is a obsolete law that was in effect years ago, but it is still a law on the books.

I already know which drivers like cyclists (or, at least, respect them):

1. They DON"T honk at me (unless it's to warn me about something truly dangerous).
2. They don't pass me unless they can do so safely.
3. They give me a wide berth when they do pass.
4. They signal their intentions.

I'd much rather wear a shirt that promotes the benefits of cycling -- even if it's a subtle message. The one I liked when I saw it was

CYCLING:
RIDE TO EAT
EAT TO RIDE
