hi...I was offered a job bike messengering,and would love any info that experienced messengers have to offer. I'm an active female, although i'm not in my best shape right now.
They are paying %50 of each delivery.Is that about normal?How are some of you payed?

50% is about average. Take whatever they give you at the start as far as work goes, the work will come. Then, when you've established yourself, ask for an increase in percentage. The work should be enough to keep you in shape, just watch out for the damn cars!

That sounds about right. Of course from looking at the other posts I would say it depends on where you live. When I worked in San Diego all the messengers worked on an hourly basis. I was making good money there. When I moved to New York I was introduced to the percentage system. I actually started at 47% but worked my up to 51% after a few months. I was making more than in San Diego but NYC is a harder city to messenger in.
