It involved a homemade box jump for my BMX bike. Only problem is that I was jumping it on a Royce Union...

Same here, only my Royce Union shot across the street and nailed a telephone pole.

I think we've got an open-and-shut case here.

pictures of chin scars are hard to take. with a web cam. in the dark. with a flash. when youre drunk.

holding onto the back of a friends bike riding my skateboard in the 5th grade.

if youve never ridden a skateboard, you may not know what speed-wobbles are.

scary as hell. especially your first time.

16 stitches to the chin.

I've got more than one. The first when I was young and I broke my jaw on both sides and fractured my chin and the second was from an endo due to a spoke failure and I landed almost exactly like I did when I broke my jaw as a child but only cut ripped some skin off. Actually there was a rock that went in and caused a little bit of a nasty hole but it came out easily. I'm rarely without facial hair but if I shaved my chin they are fairly noticeable.

Jumped off a curb with a miyata ridge runner in 89'.Pow! fork breaks, drives my chin into the pavement, turns out the fork had a crack in it just below the lower race .Of course that was'nt discovered until I had 6 stitches on my chin and 3 under the skin.It is a nice scar-I do a goatee now.

Mine's from needle-nose-pliers. Just a couple of stitches and a tetanus shot.

Hobby horse... 1969.

Ran into a wall, broke the poor fellas neck and caught the broken end under my chin.

When I was 15 or so, I went on a boy's scout trip out west. I came upon some historical trinket. I took it to hand over to a museum, however the local gang had other ideas. They ended up chasing me. I threw the hammer down, but it wasn't enough, they caught up with me.

Somehow I ended up face-to-face with a lion! I used a whip to try to detract it, but it ended up hitting me on the chin. Had a scar there ever since!

Age 9. Riding brother on the bars of an old cruiser. He caught his foot in the spokes. Endo with chin plant. Four stitches and a tetanus shot.

gerald_g 08-18-09 02:23 PM

How many of these are ending with the phrase..... "and a tetanus shot."?

I have a scar under my chin from landing on the pavement, after doing a header. Also a matching one where my top teeth bit through my lower lip when my chin hit the ground. And various seizure-related scars inside my mouth. Chop-chop!

starla 08-19-09 10:34 AM

I have a little scar just over my lip and a road rash scar on my right elbow. Both from the same (and so far only) accident.

Wheels4 08-20-09 07:05 PM

yup, i have the scar on my chin(or under my chin) to prove my childhood was not boring on a bicycle.

AncientLegend 08-21-09 01:20 PM

Got mine when my collie knocked me off my trike 60 years ago.

caloso 08-21-09 01:28 PM

Scar on my left eyebrow. I tell people it was from a duel when I was a student prince at Heidelberg. Actually it was from running into a doorjamb when I was 1.

Scar under my lip. I tell people it was from a bar fight. I did get it in a bar, but it wasn't much of a fight.

jefferee 08-21-09 01:32 PM

Riding a trike down a gravel slope when I was around 4 or 5 years old--managed to go over the bars and land on my chin. No medical attention required but it did leave a pretty decent scar so maybe stitches would have been a good idea.

Scars. Let's see....

Right cheek. First day of first grade when a kid hit me with a stick that had a nail in it.

Left side of scalp. Another bully, another stick. No nail this time, though.

Left side of scalp. Stood up too fast while fixing an SMR radio site and hit my head on the bottom of a combiner. Also got concussion.

Point of chin. Faceplant. On of my few bicycle related injuries.

Underside of chin. Tablesaw kickback. But it taught me what NOT to do when using power tools.

Neck. Throat surgery.

Right wrist. Fell carrying a heavy but delicate object while in the service. Getting under it saved the object but didn't do my body much good.

Torso. One scar from underarm to lower abdomen. Cancer.

No visible scar but three broken ribs due to carrying equipment on an icy ramp.

Another few cracked ribs. Rolled a snowmobile trying to get to a mountain-top site. Ended up face down some distance down the slope with the machine on my back. Fortunately I was not alone this time.

Lower left abdomen. Bullet wound.

Lower left abdomen/left hip (several scars). Complications from earlier cancer surgery.

Left knee. Auto accident. Black ice, went into log truck.

Both knees. I was a klutz as a kid and have never outgrown that stage.

Numerous others, mostly insignificant.

This sounds like a movie scene where the lead man and lead woman start comparing scars, doesn't it?

I just can't wait to see what happens next.
