takin out bar plugs

so how do you take bar plugs? you just pry em out? cuz i got new shiny reflective bar plugs and i wanna replace my old ones

Machka 01-15-08 09:15 PM

Can't you just slide a butterknife in and pop them out?

darksmaster923 01-15-08 10:22 PM

oh. was tryin to use my fingers.
and if bar plugs come with my bar tape, are they road bar plugs? would they fit mtb bars, or rather my bar ends?

They should just pop out. Grab 'em with pliers and pull. Some older ones have a screw with an expander plug, you'd need to slack that of course.

I've never had a problem with plugs not fitting any bar I've tried.

I usually just ride my bike for a few weeks and they pop right out. Onto the road.

I'll see your reflective bar plugs and raise you my automatic lighted bar end plugs.
