What to do with slightly used Equipment?

AM I blind? Did I miss a flea market forum here? I am sure everyone else has slightly used stuff they bought that is to good to just throw away.

There are multiple "for trade" threads in multiple forums. However, if you want to sell stuff then you'll either need to link it in your sig (people often have the don't show sig thing checked) or buy a red star (no adverts!) which lets you post in the for sale forum.

edit: how to get a red star - http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=379424

You keep all the slightly used but good stuff and collect it till you have enough to buy a better frame and build a second bike. All the good stuff goes on the new frame and you then have a beater bike or a complete bike for sale.

All I need now for the 6th bike is a crankset and bottom bracket. Problem for me is that my slightly used stuff is still too good and I can't part with and old faithfull.

All my used stuff that isn't being used is usually one step away from the scrap barrel, if not already in it:p

I've got a bin full of stuff and I've got a list of things that I don't need but wouldn't mind having. About once a year I find somebody who needs something from my bin and who has something to trade from my want list.

Post it in the "Pay It Forward" thread.

Donate it to a local bike Co-op. Most large colleges have them and they can always use equipment in good shape. bk

or adopt your own bike part donate-ee - some worthy rider who might be short on funds & will appreceiate your hand-offs.

Put it on eBay. That's where most of my parts come from. I just paid $195 plus shipping from England for a 30 year old crankset. There are lots of vintage bike addicted fools like me out there.
