I voted no, although I can feel a 'sick' day coming on... not too much trail time left this year!

Whenever my Schedule allows for it! My work is very cyclical, sometimes I'm slammed and other times I'm snoozing at the office. During those snooze periods, I'm more inclined to take an afternoon or day to enjoy the day.

Never called in sick, but I've taken my share of leisurely starts and early finishes in the name of cycling....

My work is pretty hot and cold too. I'm either busy as hell on an out of town consulting project, or snoozing in the office doing customer support and helping the sales guys out.

Gosh that is a good idea. I'm worried someone I work with would see me though.

I work for the ambulance service, so if I called in sick, I better not crash.

I've never called in sick, but my "uncle has died" a few times.

Nowadays, since I'm retired, he doesn't die too often.

I have the same concern, so no I haven't. I do commute, and on my old commute (47km round trip) it used to be a good ride. These days my commute is only 26km round trip, but myself and a friend regularly go riding on Tuesday and Thursday nights after work.

When I was a dispatcher for the courier company I was always paranoid about running into one of my drivers now I don't dispatch and our drivers all drive the same routes so I just ride other places. What surprised me was that there are almost as many no's as yeses

Yep. I took a "mental health" day and halfway thru the day just felt like getting out for a ride. Ended up going out for a 4 hour ride. Felt great.

I dressed it up by having a few errands to take care of, but the real reason was to ride.

Then again, I was sick of not riding.

I've only called in sick 3 times in 6 years.
All of a sudden I feel like a pretty honest guy.
I take vacation days and ride all the time, and of course after work.

How about adding a "Not yet, but I know it's coming" option?

Just occasionally. However when I do it I don't lie to anyone, I just tell the receptionist that I need a sick day. So see, I'm not saying that I'm sick. Plus this way if I do get hurt I'll just say that is why I couldn't come in.

Yep. That's why I eventually quit my job.

Besides, I hated that stupid job anyway. I was glad to go. Never work for family.

You kidding? Of course! Once I woke up about an hour early, and hit the 'net to check the weather. Found it would be perfect, and suddenly developed a very bad headache!

last Friday..... Needed a good ride, long and fast... 119 miles in just under six hours of riding. How can something hurt so much and feel so good?
