When is the best time to sell parts on ebay?

Is there any particular strategy to sell bike parts on Ebay in order to get top dollar? For example, is it better to sell in April vs. Feb due to more people looking for parts, or does the market just get flooded then?
Thanks!

If you are selling vintage, mint condition, rare items anytime is a good time.

If you are selling more standard fare then in the spring and summer you will have far more people looking.

I've wondered about this as well, and my guess is it's a good time to sell stuff when the bikes shops are full of people (edit: Mar-Sep), and not a good time if they're empty (edit: Oct-Feb).

anytime that's not winter.

I've had poor luck trying to get rid of stuff in nov~jan, but February I seem to have better luck.

I have to agree with this. A lot of us that like the older stuff look all the time and many of us have winter projects. They are winter projects not because the items are cheaper, but because us in the cold areas might not ride as much in the winter time.

As I have been looking around eBay, I don't really see a difference in final selling prices now than in the summer. This might be different if you are trying to sell a 2007 Trek 1000, but I am not sure since I am not interested in those types of things.

When those Gov. checks go out this May, that will be a great time to put stuff on Ebay. Around tax return time is also a good time.

Haha good thought. I have already read a couple posts from people waiting on the "free money". Thanks for the input all.

While late spring thru summer is the best time, you can still do well at other times. Time of day is important. You want your auctions to end between 5pm and 11pm Central time in the USA since that gives you the broadest ebay active buying audiience from coast to coast. Clean and clear pictures and descriptions matter. Great service and feedback matter.

Example: I recently bid on a set of Profile aero bars that normally go for about $50 on ebay. I bid because the auction had all the signs of a newbie to ebay. The pictures were terrible and the description was spares. The headline didn't catch anyones eyes. The guy had the auction ending at 3:30 am. I woke up to discover I won the bars, like new condition for 25 cents. Yeah its an extreme example but a good one. With a few changes to his listing, he would have gotten a lot more money for his stuff.
