Trek 7200 or 7300?
I am looking to replace a 15 year old Trek 700 and have been looking at a Trek 7200 and 7300. I'm in my 50's and the riding position of my 700 causes pain in my wrists and lower back. I like the sitting position of the 7200 as the higher handlebars allows you to sit more upright, but I preferred the gear shifters on the 7300. The 7300 also seemed tighter and more responsive, but its gel seat is smaller and harder than the saddle of the 7200, which felt more comfortable during a short test ride.
I realize that 10 -20 mile rides around town won't be the same as a one mile test ride, so I don't want to make a mistake and be sorry later. Can anyone recommend one over the other?
Also, what about size? I don't know if the 17.5 or 20" is best. I am 5'11" with a 32" inseam. I almost touch the top tube on the 20" when standing over it and have a couple of inches of space from the top tube on the 17.5".

I have a Trek 6700 so I can't recommend one over the other. However just so you're aware, if you're looking at the new models the 7200 looks like it comes with the standard 1" of seat post suspension (that hybrids come with) where the 7300 does not. However you can always switch out posts / seats if that's what you're looking for.

Seat Post
They both have a suspension seat post. The 7200 has rubber over it, whereas the 7300 does not, so it appears as if the 7300 doesn't have a suspension.

I've had a 7200 for almost 3 years and have put about 7,000 miles on the bike with no problems. I'm in my mid, OK, make that late, 50's, and it has been a great bike to ride the paved bike trails. I have a 20" that fits me well. I'm 6'0" and have a 31 inch inseam.

Get the better bike if you can afford it, in this case the 7300. If your LBS is worth a damn, they will swap out the stem, saddle, and post to fit your needs.
