What are those for**********
ok, after I have been wondering for a few months, I am going to finally ask.......what are those pump looking things that are attached to road bike's downtubes or seat post tubes??

I think they pump air into the tires....Just a guess.

lol matt, their the things that are attached to the frame, their not tire pumps, they have a tube that goes into the frame or something.....chewa's bike has one, but i cant find the darn picture of his bike!

That is a Bluemels pump, which fits onto pump pegs brazed on to the frame, and was a standard fitting on 1950, 60 and 70 Flying Scots and many other bikes of the time. It fits onto the pump pegs just for storage (no velcro in the 60's), and comes off if you want to pump the tyres. The top has a short flexible tube which comes out and screws onto the valve and into the pump. I keep it on because it is a period accessory
I only use it for pumping up my dog's football as it is incredibly inefficient and cant reach the 120 psi that the tyres on the Scot can take.
I much prefer my Blackburn airstick and track pump.
If you are meaning the small goldish thing on the headset, that's a grease nipple and there is one on the bb shell as well

Yes, but I think if you see a better picture of it you'll see it doesn't look like part of the frame.
The advantage was that bike makers knew how far apart to put the pegs so the pump could fit any bike. I think you can still get band-on pegs.
