I'm not a big LBS proponent, but DUDE, get your arse back to the shop where you bought the bike and get it fitted.
If you are feeling discomfort "down there," you are sitting on a poorly adjusted bike. You shouldn't be putting weight on the soft tissue of the perianal area. You should be sitting on your sit bones.
When I first started riding, I tried the gel-saddle route. A big, soft, spring-loaded, "maximum comfort" job. I think it weighed about 15 pounds. It wasn't until I got a "regular" saddle and learned to position my sit bones, correctly that I found any real comfort on my bike.
