Looks like it is meant to reference the shape of the crank arm. The cank also looks like it was crafted with the same care as the website.

Been around, still goofy. Same idea as the BioPace chainrings Shimano did back in the day.

Yea, and that stem adjusts really, really long too.

IIRC, the original bright idea behind the curved cranks was that they were made of springy steel and under hard pedaling effort, they would straighten out a bit and (in theory) increase in effective length.

The principle doesn't sound totally wrong, and if you had the perfect materials it might work. But steel is not the perfect material, and aluminum is even less so, as it suffers even more from metal fatigue than steel does. Composites might be able to make the principle work, for a price.
