hello
I'm very happy to hear that. But you know, some bone head sport commentator AGAIN will make a remark stating 'what's the big deal?'.....'anyone can ride a bike.'

Whoo hooooooo!
Go Lance!
Anyway, good for him. If he wins #6 (which I'm rooting for him to win), I hope he wins it again. I can't think of another male athlete that could win that top honor (though I can think of a lot of women for the women's side of the AP awards!).
I can't wait to see how the Tour de France shapes up for next year!

i think that barry bonds, who came in 2nd wasn't voted #1 because of possible steroid/drug use to 'enhance' his stats. i think voters didn't want that hanging over the award. now, barry is a miserable human being and i dislike him intensely but he would have won if not for the 'legal' testosterone enhancers he has been using AND the fact that most of the voters don't understand cycling and are still in awe that a man close to death can achieve what he has achieved.
***disclaimer*** this is what i think was going through the minds of the voters during the process***
also, there are other team sports guys with stats to dilute their votes and lance is unique enough not to have to split votes with anyone.
