Devinci Lifestyle vs Trek 7200 - opinions please

I am buying my first bike (ever) and will learn to ride soon. I need a bike for easy riding on pavement like the sea wall, around the neighbourhood, maybe on grass, etc...I have no ambitions of fitness riding, commuting to work, etc... Would prefer a bike that I can use for several years - that is a bike that will suit me as I get better riding and has good, quality components.

I have narrowed down my choices to either the Devinci Lifestyle or the Trek 7200 - they cost approximately the same in Vancouver (maybe $50+ difference). Both are comfortable and feel good.

Since I do not know how to ride a bike, my observations are limited to looks and feel. I did notice that on the devinci bike, I can put my feet down when sitting, which I am told is easier when learning to ride. But I'm not sure if this is good for long-term. On the Trek, I am on my tip toes and I'm sort of liking the women-specific design idea.

Both bikes should be adjusted for your fit before really comparing the comfort. The Devinci bike sounds like it has the seat adjusted too low.
