You know you bleed chain lube when...

You get up early, because you have to true a wheel so you can get to work on your fixed gear. You fire up the coffee pot with a nice aromatic french roast, and instead of watching something like the Today Show, you pop in your X-mas gift the 1999 TDF DVD, and set about truing your wheel.

Finished in an hour I still have time to slip onto the WWW check my email, post a few messages here, pack and get on the road to work.

Life is good. But I think I need a heavier lube, the coffee's thinning my blood.

When your roommates tell you that you talk to your bike too often.

When you are buying gear and referring to it as a Valentine's Day gift for the bike.

When you find yourself staring lovingingly into its bars, wondering what its thinking.

When, after coming home from a ride in the rain, the bike gets wiped down before you do.

Your husband buys you a trainer for Christmas. You assemble the trainer, and set it up with your bike in the guest bedroom down the hall from the master bedroom. As you and husband head to bed, you look lovingly down the hall at your bike's silhoutte and say, "you know, we could keep it in the bedroom with us."

...when you start coasting in a car towards a red light so you wont have to 'unclip'
...when driving around and you see a road up a hill or mountain, you start to think about what it would be like to climb up it

When your favorite song is the one by the Moldy Peaches that goes "I just wanna ride bikes with you" and your boss asks if you have a crush on your bike.

You are the only person at work who uses the large stall in the bathroom to change clothes. And has a red line across your forehead every morning from a cycling cap. And has Managers asking what kind of pizza you are delivering. And who has wet togs hanging under your desk at your cube. And who has AlleyCat flyers from days of yore (heh heh) tacked to your cube walls. And no one understands why you are so wrapped up in cycling.

When not riding, you are known as the guy that not only takes the stairs instead of the elevator, but the guy that runs up every staircase you see.

When your wife refers to the Trek as "your girlfriend."
When you seriously consider buying a house out in the burbs in order to lengthen your commute.
When officemates stop asking you if you want a ride home because it's foggy, sprinkling, below 60F, etc.

When you learn that the new hires all ask "Does she always ride the bike?" "Oh, yes.", "Even in the rain?" "Rain, snow, sleet, blizzard, yup, she always rides."

No problems like that here. . .

More like: Can we do. . .as soon as I get home from the ride?--I'll be all warmed up then!

When you ride to another restraunt 8 miles away to avoid the smell of horse urine, and you don't think it's that far away.
