A bigger wipe out... (pics)

Just felt like one-uping PockyMonster

So i went for a ride the other day... and here are the results:

This is the road we were riding on. The guy on the left is the reason why i had my accident (he cut me off + knocked out my front tire).

Where we were going:

my shorts... now ruined...

My shoulder:

Burns on my arm:

My elbow:

And the very painful road rash on my thigh!!!

Took a shower this morning. The single most painful shower i can remember taking.

EDIT:

sorry for the sideways pics. I corrected 'em in Photobucket, but for some reason they show up horizontal here. oh well.

Oh thats messed up... What was the guy doing? Not paying attention, screwing around or just a bad rider? Is he a friend of yours? I hope ya heal up fast. Rash is a female dog, at least no broken bones or messed up face.

well, this is the second day with it all. i'm surprised how fast i'm healing. i don't wear bandages on my arm until it's time to sleep (so i don't muss up my sheets with my elbow). my thigh is healing slower, though, since i have to cover it up if i'm going to do anything during the day. i find i heal faster (or at least it's less painful) if i let the wounds sit out in the air, or the sun.

since it's summer vacation, i can sit around the house in just my underwear so the wounds get a chance to heal. i'm not much help working anymore, so what does it matter, eh?

the guy is a friend. i invited him up on a long trip up to Newmarket (round trip of 76km). The route to get there is hilly, as you can see from the pics. We were descending down a hill... and riding two across in the lane. I was rolling on the outside. He heard a car coming (which i didn't). When this happens, we ride in single file. Since i'm the stronger rider i usually ride in front. i tell him there's a car coming, gesture the number of cars (they usually come in twos or threes?) with a hand signal, and then tell him if i'm going to take the lead, or fall behind, and make the move.

this time... he decided to just cut in (he thought he was way ahead of me (yeah, right)) without warning. well... here are the results... yay... combination of not paying attention and bad rider, i suppose. his turn was relatively quick: so fast i couldn't react by putting on the brakes.

The big nasty one you have on your elbow looks like the one on my shoulder. Its healing so slow where as my elbow is healing way faster. The most painful thing is rubbing in 99% rubbing alcohol into it. I just about screamed when i did that. Hey I used to live in Markham.

I wiped out near Leslie and Steeles that MUP that runs there down to sheppard.

I had tickets to go see Tiesto monday night, I had to wrap it up pretty good and put an elbow tensor over it so nothing ripped off and started to ooze.

My 7 year old wants to know why you stole her name. We told her she was the only one with it.

I'm dreading the day I get the road rash like that!

heal fast friend.

Bummer of a crash, you should never road ride with MTB'ers they can't ride a straight line.

BTW who did your hair? Rob Zombie?

actually i am a mountain biker... i prefer to ride the trails more than the roads, but i alternate maybe 50/50 between the two disciplines; i love both. trails for fun and to improve technique. roads to improve strength, endurance, and to give my body a break.
